Dr. Amber McIntyre

PT, DPT, CCRT

Dr. Amber McIntyre brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her role at Walking Paws Rehab. She is very heart warming, kind, compassionate, and patient while at the same time being very experienced and knowledgeable. She is that humble doctor that will impress you through the great improvements that she makes for your pet. Dr. Amber takes her time listening to each one of our guests, ensuring they receive the best care possible. She goes out of her way to try new treatments for her patients. With Dr. Amber know your pet will be given every possibility to heal.

After earning a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, she worked as a “human PT” for 10 years. She is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatrics who enjoys using creative-problem solving to help her patients reach their goals.

With a life-long love for animals, her passion for animal rehabilitation was fueled as she went through therapy with her own German Shepherd, Rigby, as she aged—a firsthand experience that revealed the profound impact of personalized therapy on an animal’s quality of life. She soon-after enrolled with the Canine Rehab Institute to start her journey into animal rehab. During this training, Dr. Amber completed an internship with Walking Paws and knew then that she wanted to be a part of the team.

Dr. Wynn was impressed by Dr. Amber’s knowledge and communication skills. She reached out to Amber asking if she would like to join our growing team in the new Denver location. Amber replied back with a “yes!” Since then Dr. Amber has helped many patients achieve better mobility.

Combining deep empathy with skills in manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted therapeutic exercise, Dr. Amber helps to restore and enhance mobility, drawing on her expertise to adapt human PT techniques for canine physiology. Outside the clinic, she spends her time enjoying the Colorado sunshine and adventuring with her wife and three big, fluffy goofball dogs. These moments of joy and connection with her own dogs keep her grounded and continually inspire her work, reminding her of the important bond between humans and their animal companions.

If your pet ends up on Dr. Amber’s schedule, know you are seeing a doctor many love!
