If you are looking for a doctor that is very studious, has dedicated a lot of time to learning and understanding, and clinically smart Dr. Amelia is the perfect doctor for you. She practices with a lot of patience, compassion, and professionalism. She is an amazing listener and will take the time to understand everything that is going on with your pet. Dr. Amelia pays great attention to detail, takes the extra time to learn and research for each one of her patient’s unique presentation. If your pet sees Dr. Amelia you can feel confident that she has spent hours reading your pet’s entire medical record and understanding your dog or cat’s entire history before you even meet her. She will lead your pet’s care with a lot of collaboration. You can guarantee that she will talk to our whole doctor team, collaborate with your primary vet or specialist to ensure the best decisions are made for your pet. Dr. Amelia spends a lot of time thinking and caring about her patients. As practice owner, I have never seen anyone dedicate as much thought, time, and care as Dr. Amelia does for her patients. I wish her clients could see all the work she does for their loved one behind the scenes. She leads by making sure she does right by her patients, being careful to never make a mistake, and paying attention to every little detail to get to a diagnosis and plan. She is a superb doctor, but still remains incredibly humble.
Before pursuing her veterinary degree she worked at a canine physical therapy clinic and fell in love with the positive and healing energy that it provided to her patients. She then continued on with veterinary school with the aim of becoming a speciality rehab veterinarian. Dr. Amelia received her doctorates in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. After graduation she worked in general practice to ensure she is well rounded in all aspects of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Amelia feels it is truly an amazing experience to witness the dedication and bond between animals and caregivers. For that reason she fueled her passion for holistic medicine and obtained her degree in acupuncture from Chi University. She also received her rehabilitation training as a certified companion animal rehabilitation therapists from North Carolina State University.
Dr. Amelia was recruited onto the Walking Paws Rehab team from California and has been such a joy to work alongside. She enjoys horseback riding, traveling and hiking through the desert and mountains with her boyfriend and cat Bob. She is unique in that she has an identical twin sister who is a veterinarian too at Walking Paws! She looks forward to spending time with her patients and their guardians to equip them with as much knowledge and support as you embark on your pet’s therapeutic journey together. We hope you get to experience Dr. Amelia in your pet’s rehab care.
