Dr. Lindsey Heidenheimer brings both compassion and a deep love for animals to her role at Walking Paws Rehab. She is known for her warm, engaging approach and her ability to connect with each dog’s unique personality while creating thoughtful, individualized treatment plans.
Lindsey is passionate about making rehabilitation a positive and fun experience, helping each patient feel comfortable while working toward meaningful progress.
Originally from Texas, Lindsey earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. She spent six years working as a human physical therapist, primarily in pediatrics, where she developed a strong foundation in creativity, patience, and personalized care. Her experience treating children naturally translated into her work with animals, where adaptability and connection are just as important.
With a lifelong love for dogs, Lindsey always knew she wanted to pursue a career in animal rehabilitation. She completed her certification through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, followed by an internship at Canine PT and Me in Portland, Oregon. She continued to build her experience through a travel contract with Austin Canine Rehab & Wellness in Austin, Texas, further strengthening her skills in canine therapy.
Lindsey relocated to Colorado to join the renowned Walking Paws Rehab team. She especially enjoys getting to know each dog’s personality and designing customized treatment plans that target their specific needs while keeping sessions engaging and enjoyable.
Outside of the clinic, Lindsey spends most of her time with her three dogs—Jake, Henry, and Nelson—who are truly the center of her world. When she’s not helping patients, she also loves exploring Colorado, finding new places to hike, and discovering fun things to do in this gorgeous state!
