We are thrilled Leah is a part of the team! She loves connecting with people, hearing stories about their beloved companions, and helping make every visit a positive experience. Her enthusiasm and passion for animal care shine through in every interaction.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Leah developed a deep love for animals at a young age and always knew she wanted to dedicate her life to caring for them. Her interest in veterinary medicine grew even stronger after her own dog escaped and was hit by a car, requiring surgery and extensive physical rehabilitation. Watching her dog’s recovery opened her eyes to a side of veterinary medicine she had never known and inspired her to pursue a future in rehabilitation.
Leah is currently a pre-veterinary student at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she is studying biology and animal behavior. She is enthusiastic about gaining hands-on experience and building the knowledge and compassion that will prepare her for veterinary school.
Leah also has experience working with reactive and fearful pets, including her own rescue cat. When she adopted her, the cat was completely feral and struggled with severe anxiety. Through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Leah helped her become a confident, affectionate, and anxiety-free companion. This experience strengthened her belief that every animal deserves individualized care and the opportunity to thrive.
Looking ahead, Leah hopes to attend veterinary school and build a career focused on physical rehabilitation and the conservation of wild species. She is dedicated to improving access to veterinary care for exotic animals in their natural habitats, helping bridge the gap between wildlife conservation and veterinary medicine. By combining her love of rehabilitation with her commitment to protecting wildlife, Leah hopes to improve the lives of both domestic and wild animals while making a meaningful impact on conservation efforts around the world.
Outside of work she enjoys nature, traveling, spending time with her loved ones, and caring for her pets. We are excited for you to meet Leah and know you’ll appreciate the kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication she brings to every patient and every family she meets.
