As a Walking Paws team member Patricia is very studious, detailed oriented, and driven to learn. She enjoys combining her love for animals with her expertise as a physical therapy assistant. You may see her around the practice eager to help out wherever needed.
Originating from south Texas, it may come as no surprise that she was involved in a local 4-H program from preschool to high school. Patricia raised many farm animals, but had a special place in her heart for show goats. Her love for agriculture and horticulture paved the way for a degree in Agriculture Animal Science from Texas State University. After graduating Patricia worked at the local animal shelter and two small animal veterinary clinics.
In 2017, Patricia pursued a second degree in another loved area, physical therapy. She graduated from Austin Community College in 2019 with an Associates degree in Physical Therapy. She attained her physical therapist assistant license in the fall of 2019.
Shortly after graduating, she moved from Austin, Texas to Colorado. For the first two years, she’s worked at a pain center treating patients directly. Although she loved working with the community, and helping people attain their physical therapy goals, she missed working with animals.
Patricia discovered Walking Paws Rehab and fell in love with the idea of combining both her passions for physical therapy and animal science. After caring for her own paraplegic dachshund, Milo, she knew Walking Paws Rehab was the place for her.
If you ever need help feel free to ask Patricia. She is always thrilled to help a cute pup in need. Especially, if it’s a small dog like Milo learning to walk again.
