Whitney is quick witted, funny, and incredibly hard working. She is eager to learn, happy to help out with patient care, and keeps the day running smooth at Walking Paws Rehab. She is working towards her veterinary degree. Therefore, she brings a positive energy, young, and motivated vibe to our practice. She cares hugely and dedicates a lot of time to getting any opportunity to help a pet in need.
Whitney has a deep love and closeness to animals, especially our furry canine friends. She has always felt connected to pets, sees them as equal sentient beings and does her best to understand our patients at a deeper level. She does very well with reactive dogs, given her understanding that they may just be scared or painful. Her superpower is turning these misunderstood pups into happy, calm dogs with her boundless patience and love. Whitney’s compassion makes her a shining star on our team.
Originally from snowy Minnesota, Whitney moved to Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2020 to pursue her degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a Pre-Vet track and earned an additional certificate in Animals & Society. With a passion for wildlife conservation, she dreams of a veterinary career in saving endangered species. During college, Whitney juggled her time between biological and ecological research labs, dog walking and sitting, working at a doggie daycare/boarding facility, and even belting out tunes in an a cappella group.
After graduation, Whitney joined our team, ready to put her anatomy and physiology smarts to the test. She helps with our rehab sessions performing therapeutic modalities and assisting with exercises. She also ensures the practice maintains a calm and tidy environment to ensure a positive experience for both you and your pet. Her bubbly personality, fun sense of humor, and welcoming energy make everyone feel right at home.
When she’s not here loving on your pup, Whitney is hanging out with her own and a few more she dog sits or walks! She loves hiking, paddle boarding, sipping coffee at local cafes, and exploring the stunning Colorado scenery.
