Panosteitis

Panosteitis

What is Panosteitis

Panosteitis involves inflammation of the outer lining of bones in growing dogs, often described as “growing pains.” This condition typically affects young large or giant breed dogs. The inflammation triggers pain and may cause shifting lameness between limbs. The pain can wax and wane, meaning it intermittently comes and goes. Generally, the disease resolves itself by the time the dog reaches about 2 years of age.
