Below is a list of supportive devices that we have found helpful for our patients with mobility issues around the house. All can be fitted and purchased at Walking Paws Rehab.
If your pet needs assistance on walks, going up and down stairs:
Help ‘Em Up Harnesses
A complete shoulder and hip harness system that literally lifts the lives of aging or recovering dogs! By placing a pair of handles where you can quickly reach them, this unique dog harness allows you to lend support at any time. It’s there whenever you need it. Perfect for getting in and out of vehicles or up and down stairs. It’s the best harness on the market for pet’s with spinal injuries. It allows you to support at the level of the pelvis without hunching the spine. Your pet can wear this all day. They can even urinate and defecate with it on.

If your pet has issues with slick floors:
Dr. Buzby’s Toe Grips
ToeGrips are nonslip grips that fit onto dogs’ toenails to facilitate innate canine biomechanics—gaining traction by engaging the nails. ToeGrips contact the ground creating the GripZone™ at the caudodistal nail tip. The nonslip material grips the floor in a way that a dog’s hard toenails cannot. Designed for indoor or outdoor use, they can be worn continuously and typically last one to three months.

OrthoPets Slip Grip Slippers
OrthoPets Slip Grip Slippers are non-slip booties that keep your pet stable on slippery indoor flooring surfaces. Slip Grip Slippers are made from a soft, comfortable, nylon lined S-FOAM neoprene on the inside. On the outside, we have also used a BASE textile to help with lining reinforcement for the pet’s nails and to combat slipping.

Non-Slip Stair Treads Tape
Sold at various retailers including Amazon. Reduces slippery areas on your stairs with a transparent no-slip grip tape. If your dog has an issue slipping on the stairs do look into this product.

Yoga mats can also be helpful if your pet is slipping on your floor.
If your pet struggles to get in and out of the car:
Pet Loader Dog Steps
Can be found at www.petloader.com. The Pet Loader Dog Steps eliminates the risk of injury to your dog or yourself from jumping or lifting. One size works with all vehicles. Easy to use. Easily folded, carried, stored. They have options for loading into the back seat versus trunk.

Ramps are also a good option for getting your pet in and out of the car.
If your pet is knuckling or scuffing their toes due to hind end weakness:
Toe Ups
